The People's Struggle Monument, or better known as Monpera, is a monument and a museum. Similar to the National Monument, we can also climb to the top. 1. Monpera
When you enter Monpera Park, you will be greeted by an eagle that stands strong and very tall. The thing that can be done at Monpera is to sit back and increase knowledge about the history of the struggle of the Palembang people. The MONPERA building which is full of symbols is an effort to remember the struggle of the heroes who have fallen to defend their independence. So that the monument is not just a sacred building that describes the past glory, but more than that, the monument can be a place to continue to maintain and preserve the noble values of the struggle for Indonesian nationalism. Monpera Has a height of 17 meters, has 8 levels and 45 paths. Each number represents the country's Independence date, which is August 17, 1945.
2. The words of the Great Commander Sudirman
The next part is the words of the great Commander Sudirman which are enshrined on the wall to the right of the monpera. This is an effort to remember the struggle of the heroes who have died to defend their independence. So that the monument is not just a sacred building that describes the past glory, but more than that, the monument can be a place to continue to maintain and preserve the noble values of the struggle for Indonesian nationalism.
3. Gun Gallery
Next up is the weapons gallery. Here we can see the many collections contained in the Monpera museum, one of which is a gun. This collection is placed in the storefront to be stored safely and maintained. Anyone can visit and see the collections in the Museum. Visitors who come should not be crowded and have to pass through the storage of goods or information so that things do not happen that are not wanted. This collection storefront is on the 2nd floor and there are various collections in it. You can visit here from 9 am to 4 pm.
4. Hero photo Gallery
Entering the main building of Monpera, visitors will find various historical collections related to the struggle of the people of South Sumatra in the face of the Dutch military aggression II. The collections include photo documentation, clothes that have been used by fighters, weapons, books, and even currency that has been used in the Republic of Indonesia. Documentation photos plastered on the walls explain how the people of South Sumatra fought against the Dutch military aggression.
5. Playground
There is also a play area for children. Around Monpera there is also a garden and seating area, so that visitors can rest. Anyone can enjoy this facility while relaxing and gathering with family. The location of this playground is around the monpera monument which leads to the road so you can see the scenery around monpera and also the road. With this facility provided, visitors who bring their families or small children can relax and small children can play with various rides such as swings, seesaws etc. A good and most visited time is during illness and also at night. To arrive at this monpera, visitors can come by private vehicle (motorcycle or car) and there is parking there.
6. War Tank
next, tank war. This right is something unique in Monpera because it provides a collection of war tanks outside the area or front of Monpera which presents a good view. This collection of tanks is on display so that everyone knows about the history and adds to the education of children about the history of the Monument.
